ABOUT US

Based in Somerset, Oakleaf Joinery & Design specializes in bespoke joinery, handcrafted furniture and property renovations using traditional materials and techniques.  

Although we are based in the West Country we are able to undertake projects across the UK and Europe.  All of our work is bespoke, using techniques that have been proven over hundreds of years.  With OakLeaf Joinery & Design you can be sure that you are getting something unique that reflects your personality and lifestyle, that will last for generations.   

We work primarily with English Hardwoods; green, seasoned or kiln dried.  Wood has a natural charm that embodies a feeling of well-being and stability.  It is economical and multifunctional and has been used as a building material for centuries.  In the modern era of ecological awareness it is making a come-back as the material of choice in many projects.  Green oak has natural twists and deflections which are very attractive and which we have found is particularly suited to rustic properties or in projects requiring a very traditional look.  All the timber we use is carefully selected for each individual project, taking into account the size and position of knots, the angle at which the grain meets the edge of the timber and a number of other strength reducing characteristics.
